Fender's Llama Farm
(and Fish Hatchery) |
Welcome to Fender's Llama Farm!
We've been raising llamas since 1983. We originally purchased them to protect our sheep from wild dogs and coyotes. Now nearly 100 llamas graze the fields of Millcreek Valley. In addition to the llamas' unique guard abilities, their docile natures make them adorable pets, 4-H projects, show animals in a competitive arena, agile packers, and producers of fine mohair, perfect for spinning.
We live in the north-eastern part of picturesque Coshocton Co., which borders
Holmes co. It has been good and
enjoyable adventure for us and our families. We have met many new people
throughout the years and stayed friends with many of the same people who
purchased llamas from us. We do enjoy the llama shows which are held
throughout the spring and fall months.
The llamas are a sideline business--our
main income comes from raising fish to sell. Visit our
Fish Hatchery site. The
families involved include a daughter and son and their spouses. Together we
own approximately 100 acres of water and lease another 100 acres of water.
This consists of 1/4 acre to 30 acre ponds.
We our in the 52nd year of
business. This was a small business which has grown over the years.
Dennis and Janet are the parents of 4
children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
